YoKimono was born from real life. From becoming a mother, watching my body change, losing pieces of myself and slowly finding my way back to the woman underneath it all.

I wanted to create clothes that didn’t ask women to change their bodies to fit into them. Clothes that could move with us through different seasons, different sizes and different versions of ourselves.

What started with one kimono made at my kitchen table has grown into a proudly South African, women-led clothing brand, made locally in our Knysna studio.

Our pieces are relaxed, adjustable and designed to make getting dressed feel good again. We don’t believe a number on a label should decide how you feel about yourself. That’s why we created our own sizing system and design with real, changing bodies in mind.

YoKimono is colourful, bold, feminine and a little bit cheeky. But underneath all of that is something simple:

Same woman. Different seasons.

Your body will change. Your life will change. You’re still you.
